| A few of our favourites! |
This blog is purely and
indulgently about one, along with rain drops on roses, of my favourite things,
chocolate!
Whatever else has been going on in my life,
chocolate seems to have been a feature.
In fact sitting here writing now I'm tucking into a very posh and never
tried before chocolate with coconut bar.
I know, how exotic am I?!
I have a very great friend, Anna. She is such a
good friend that when I had to leave my beloved Brighton and move up north, a few
months later she actually moved 20 minutes down the road (nothing to do with
her husbands job and everything to do with me!).
Anna and I have a great friendship
history, mainly based around chocolate. We used to run along the seafront together and then end in
a cafe for a hot chocolate and chocolate. We have laughed, cried, fed our
babies (Jonah and Zach), shared stuff together and solved all the world's problems over a few bars of
chocolate.
It was Anna that told me what 'time out' was for - no, not correcting your child's wayward behaviour, but for consuming as much chocolate as you can in the minutes available without said child (can't wait for Zach to be 3 in that case)! Most recently she
showed me what a flimsy pushchair hood is actually for. It's not for keeping rain off your child (it doesn't do that), but for holding secret chocolate!

| A good cooking chocolate. Sorry couldn't rotate the photo! |
My son is turning out to be a bit like
me. Ask him what he wants for breakfast
and he says chocolate; ask him what the postman delivers and he says chocolate
(once or twice his grandparents may have made his day and posted chocolate to
him), and ask him who else likes chocolate and he knows it's mummy. Thank goodness that the clever people who
make dairy free chocolate make it well and thank goodness that chocolate for
allergic children is starting to come in all shapes and sizes. One day there may even by a dairy free gold
bunny with a bell on a red ribbon that he can eat!
So here in celebration of chocolate is
allergy free chocolate heaven (as certified by Zach, Anna and Jonah).
Stay warm!

Yay chocolate! I love chocolate too. I'm particularly keen on Hotel Chocolat dark chocolate (dairy free but contains soya lecithin). We also like Zero Zebra, which you can get if you shop with Ocado. It comes in animal shapes, so it's great for kids, but is pretty expensive!! We only buy it for special occasions, like our LO's birthday.
ReplyDeleteIf you're looking for more adult dairy free chocolate, you might also like to look at Love Lactose Free Life. Emma sells only dairy free chocolate and you can check out the other ingredients in the chocolate, if you need too.

Hi!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link. I'll definitely have a look and animal shaped chocolate sounds perfect for a certain little boys birthday in January. Thank you x
Love these ideas! Where does one find the chocolate covered raisins?
ReplyDeleteHi Foodallergymom and thanks!
